Pitlochry Festival Theatre
Internationally renowned for its large-scale theatre productions and record-setting audiences, Pitlochry Festival Theatre – often better known as the ‘Theatre in the Hills’ – runs a regular series of captivating shows designed to delight audiences of all ages.
Based 40 minutes from the Dunalastair Hotel Suites near Pitlochry, the theatre was established in 1951, originally housed in a tent. It now occupies a beautiful building in a magnificent setting on the banks of the Tummel River, surrounded by the spectacular hills of Highland Perthshire.
The theatre’s summer program runs from late May through early October with up to seven productions through the season. The year-round program also includes one show through autumn, and an ever popular Christmas production running throughout December, as well as live musical performances, workshops, and other one-off events.
