What is it?
Organised by Run Scotland, the annual Rannoch Marathon and Half-Marathon attracts scores of runners and spectators alike to Kinloch Rannoch, all looking to experience one of Scotland’s best-loved road races.
Ideal for first time marathon runners, the 26.2 mile course runs along mostly flat road around the entire perimeter of Loch Rannoch, with a few gradual inclines adding to the challenge.
Where is it?
Boasting by far one of the most scenic marathon routes anywhere in Great Britain, the Rannoch Marathon gets underway from the starting line in the heart of Kinloch Rannoch itself. Surrounded by lush hillsides and truly splendid countryside at all times, the course takes runners around the outskirts of the 10 mile lake itself, occasionally heading into the heart of the landscape, and passing famous monuments such as the ancient Bridge of Gaur.

When is it?
The Run Scotland Rannoch Marathon & Half Marathon both take place on the same date each October. The 2016 event is scheduled for October 16th, and places are still available for those wishing to take part.
