Bathed in light from the courtyard, with a lounge full of cosy corners for coffee and conversation, Monadh serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, and delectable light bites in between. While hearty Scottish dishes are a speciality, our carefully crafted menus invite new discoveries with options for meat-lovers to veg aficionados, and everything in between. The Library, meanwhile, is a fine dining room with a literary flavour, its seven-course tasting menu a treat for avid gourmands.

“Scotland has the best larder in the world” says Simon Kelman, seafood ace and head chef at Dunalastair Hotel Suites. He’s honed his craft in some of Scotland’s best kitchens from the age of 16, including stalwarts of the Edinburgh food scene Howies and InterContinental Edinburgh The George, as well as international experience working as a Head Chef at db San Antonio spa and resort in Malta. A collection of AA Rosettes is testament to his talent, as are the new menus at Monadh and The Library.

Al Fresco Dining

An enclosed hidden oasis in the heart of the hotel, the courtyard is the perfect spot for al fresco dining, whether for a long lunch, or an early evening cocktail. A popular destination for the longer evenings in the summer months, the courtyard is open all year round for those who wish to brave it in winter. Umbrellas and patio heaters on hand to keep things toasty whilst you recline amongst the tranquillity of the hotel surroundings.

Fine dining in the Scottish Highlands finds its apogee in the rarefied surroundings of The Library. Here, a new seven-course tasting menu by acclaimed head chef Simon Kelman brings gourmet flair to signature classics such as slow roasted venison, its flavours skilfully matched with Swiss chard, sloe berries and mini blue cheese fondant.
