Stalking

Offering first class holiday accommodation near Pitlochry, the Dunalastair is well served by several locations renowned for providing some of the best opportunities for hunting in Scotland.

Deer Hunting at the Rannoch Estate

Easily accessible a short distance from our luxury holiday accommodation in Perthshire, the Rannoch Estate boasts over 20,000 acres of beautiful scenery and tranquil surroundings.

It’s here where you’ll find the acclaimed stalking facilities set in some of the most secluded and serene parts of the Scottish Highlands.

According to Country Sport Scotland, roughly 70 hinds are shot each year in Loch Rannoch, along with 60 stags, and the area’s famous Red Grouse, which are usually shot over pointers.

A perfect spot not only for hunting breaks, but also other types of adventure holidays in Scotland, the Estate is also served by a generous supply of trout and pike for fishing, and even offer guided wilderness walks through the breath taking Rannoch Moor.

Craiganour Estate

From July through October, our neighbours at the sporting estate of Craiganour offer guided stag stalking tours around the hills, valleys and lochs surrounding Pitlochry. At other times, hind stalking season is open throughout the winter months, from October through to mid-February.

Much as with Rannoch Estate, Craiganour offers more than just the ideal spot to visit on your Scottish hunting break, it can also be booked for trout fishing, mountain biking, and guided photography tours.
