Perthshire Open Studios

An annual, nine-day celebration of art and creativity in the heart of Perthshire and Kinross-Shire.

What is it?

A highlights of the Scottish Arts Calendar, Perthshire Open Studios sees artists, sculptors and creatives of all types open their doors to the public in a week-and-a-half celebration of local arts and crafts.

Celebrating its twelfth birthday in 2019, the annual festival attracts almost 20,000 visitors to Perthshire and the surrounding areas each year.

Those visitors are treated to an array of exhibitions, workshops, guided tours and taster sessions, not to mention a rare opportunity to purchase some unique, authentic Scottish art work.

Where is it?

The event is organised into various coloured ‘routes’, each focussing on a particular part of the spectacular Perthshire and Kinross-shire regions.  The Dunalastair Hotel Suites, holiday accommodation in Perthshire, are well placed as an ideal base for visitors to the Perthshire Open Studios event.

The Bield at Blackruthven, home of the main Showcase Exhibition, can be reached within an hour’s drive along the A9.   A second showcase exhibition is held in Pitlochry.

Even closer to home, The Shed Gallery is no more than a few minutes’ walk from the hotel here in Kinloch Rannoch. The gallery forms part of the Open Studios’ ‘Red Route’, which features galleries and studios throughout the neighbouring villages of Fortingall, Aberfeldy, and Pitlochry.

When is it?

Perthshire Open Studios takes place each year in September.
